Who We Are
Volatile Fishing is a company built by weekend warriors for weekend warriors. Our mission is to spread knowledge of Offshore Fishing to anyone wanting to learn while providing products at a reasonable price. Our knowledge comes firsthand from trial and error, failures, and learning from others that came before us. We strive to provide credible information and affordable gear and tackle to help learning and growing offshore anglers be successful with their limited time out in the Bluewater.
A Few Words About
Our Team
Over the years, the team has grown in knowledge, experience, fishing strategies, equipment, and boats. Starting from Tarpon, 20 miles out, to over 150 miles offshore for overnight tuna trips in 3 short years. Many friends have been made throughout the fishing community, and the Port Aransas family of offshore fishermen.
Chris Hannifin
A 20-year Air Force Mustang Officer who retired in 2022. He makes his living as a technology executive for a company located in San Antonio. In 2015 he dreamed of offshore fishing with his family and friends. Upon the passing of his mother in 2017, he put plans in motion to achieve his vision.
Levi Wolfe
Served in the Coast Guard after graduating High School at MacArthur High in San Antonio, TX. After wrapping up his stint as a Coastie, Levi went on to study Oceanography at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was able to focus his studies and research on oceanic environments and anthropogenic impacts on surrounding ecosystems. Now working in IT full-time, Levi spends most of his days day-dreaming about fish’n full-time.
Ryan Mercer
He makes his everyday living by owning and operating a family-owned pest control company with his wife. Born and raised in South Texas and growing up with a dad who loved the outdoors, his love for fishing started as a toddler running the beach of PINS and bay fishing the land cut with his dad and brother. In 2010 Ryan got an opportunity laid in his lap to be the 1st Mate running Offshore Bluewater trips out of Port O'Connor, Tx. This was when his love for fishing turned into a passion!
Brandon Paredes
Vol-a-Tile's outboard mechanic and maker of world class micheladas!
